HARTFORD, Ct., AUG. 4  — Jenn Searls, Executive Director of Connie, Connecticut’s Health Information Exchange, was nominated Aug. 4th as an Interoperability Hero by DirectTrust’s Interoperability Hero Initiative. This quarterly recognition of advancing interoperability on an individual or organizational level is one Searls is honored to be part of.

“I’m humbled to be recognized by such an esteemed group of colleagues in this, the inaugural class of Interoperability Heroes. However, I’d be remiss not to point out that the work we’re doing at Connie for Connecticut is not mine alone and that my entire team is made up of superheroes who believe in the power of secure data exchange and interoperability for the good of our community.”

Searls’ nomination is credited to her outstanding leadership and management skills in the launch and expansion of Connie – an especially daunting task during the current pandemic.

DirectTrust, a non-profit healthcare industry alliance which supports secure, identity-verified electronic exchanges of protected health information (PHI) between health care entities and patients for the purpose of improved coordination of care, will announce Searls and other nominated Heroes with their quarterly performance announcement.
