SERVICE OVERVIEW

The Image Share feature on the Connie Portal and InContext app is a powerful tool that provides authorized healthcare teams with quick access to high-quality patient images in near real-time. As more organizations connect with Connie, the number of available patient images will increase, creating a robust imaging service that reduces costs and enhances patient care throughout Connecticut.

The Image Share tool consists of three main components: report-level viewing, the imaging worklist, and transfer-to-PACS. Report-level viewing allows users to view patient images while reviewing radiology or cardiology reports. The imaging worklist allows users to compare images for a patient from all participating organizations connected to Connie. With additional permissions, the transfer-to-PACS feature allows users to download external images directly to their local PACS.

Authorized Connie users can access patient images taken within the last 90 days in near-real time, while older images can be retrieved on demand.

With Image Share, authorized healthcare teams can access full diagnostic quality patient images, providing rapid access to critical information that can significantly impact patient outcomes.

USER STORIES

Mary Parker | Orthopedic Clinic

Mary is both a radiology technician and the PACS administrator for an orthopedics ambulatory surgery center in Connecticut. Mary actively uses Connie's Image Share to query patients and download images that were conducted at external facilities as a best practice when chart preparing the day's appointments. This step to Mary's workflow reduces the need for duplicate images, saving the patient both time and money, and also provides the surgeon with more details so they can make more informed decisions.

Jane LePlante | Emergency Department

When a patient is brought in with trauma to the back or head, Jane can view images conducted at an external facility to understand baseline anatomy and assess the impact of the trauma in order to make an appropriate treatment decision. She can launch the images directly from her EMR.
